Grand opening of Business Zone Komenda on completion of utility infrastructure, Stage II
Contractor Primorje and its subcontractors have completed the construction of modern utility infrastructure in Business Zone Komenda, Stage II. Spreading over 60 hectares, the project involved 7 km of asphalt roads, 14 km of asphalt footpaths, public lighting and earthmoving works including stormwater drainage and sewerage, gas-, power- and water supply networks, and a telecommunications system. At present, final infrastructure inspections are underway and Operating Permit is expected to be granted shortly, since any deficiencies identified during Technical Inspection have already been rectified.
Enterprises setting up shop in the Zone also include high-tech companies such as RLS, Jungheinrich and the regional development company Regijska razvojna družba d.o.o., which were among the most recent land buyers in the Zone; however, in light of highly competitive pricing – EUR 125 per square meter of land including building land development fees (exclusive of VAT) – remaining lots are bound to disappear fast. At this time, the sizes of currently available, fully developed lots range from 1,900 m² to 40,000 m².
Construction activities by owners, who have already obtained their building permits, are already in full swing. First lots will be connected to the utility infrastructure immediately following the opening ceremony, which will take place as part of the celebrations designed to commemorate the annual Community of Komenda Day, on Saturday, 14 May 2011 at 4 pm with the start of the 1st Sun Race whereby the Zone will be officially declared open.
